Feeling stressed. Being snappy/irritable. Experiencing panic attacks. Suicidal thoughts. Self- harm. Hearing voices. Behavioural and psychological symptoms or dementia.
Patient Participation Group: Would you like to join our Patient Group? The Surgery will be undergoing a major refurbishment in 2021 and we also have a new Practice Manager. This seems like a good time to meet with our Patient group (perhaps virtually) to get your views on the practice and on the upcoming works. If you are interested in joining this group please email stokesley.mailbox@nhs.net

Were delighted to say we’ve been accepted to recruit patients into the PRINCIPLE clinical research trial, which is designed to see whether an antimalarial medication is an effective treatment. If you’re >50 and eligible for the flu jab AND start with NEW coronavirus symptoms please contact Dr Francis at Stokesley Health Centre or go to https://sentry.phc.ox.ac.uk/prinscreen/STU . You’ll be directed to an online questionnaire to enter you into this trial and if suitable you will be offered testing for coronavirus and then randomised to medication or placebo. This will NOT affect you normal nhs care in any way.
As you know we sign up to the nhs statement that all patients should be offered the chance to partake in research for the sake of future generations. Pease consider signing up for this if you are eligible.

A new website has been launched, dedicated to helping children and young people in North Yorkshire find mental health support.
The Go-To – www.thegoto.org.uk – is designed to be a portal or ‘single point of information’ showcasing the mental health support services offered by different agencies in the county.
With the majority of young people currently not in school and many in isolation as a result of the restrictions imposed on movement to deal with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, health leaders believe online mental health support for young people has never been more important.

We are continually looking at ways to improve the service we offer to our patients. It will come as no surprise to you that over the last few years the demand on General Practice has increased significantly. We strive to manage this demand daily. The team at the health centre has increased to now include not only GPs but also clinical practitioners, primary care nurses and pharmacists. There are also attached services including physiotherapy. Many of you will already have had contact with these members of the team and appreciate the skills they offer.
We are now adapting our appointment system to help patients navigate to the most appropriate person to assist with their problems. This process is called “CARE NAVIGATION”
The reception staff have all been trained in care navigation. This system will help patients access the most appropriate service for their needs. To enable the practice to develop these services we will be changing how the reception staff deal with appointment requests. The staff will ask you for a brief description of your problem to navigate you to the most appropriate appointment or service.
To enhance our practice we will be offering a new “Ill On The Day” service to deal with those illnesses that require attention on that day. This service will be provided by a team of clinical staff including GPs, clinical practitioners, primary care nurses and pharmacists. This service will include both face to face consultations and telephone consultations if this is felt to be appropriate. Like all changes this will take time to bed in, so bear with us over the first few months while we endeavour to enhance the service we can provide to our patients.
DO WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT CONTACT DETAILS:
Please make sure we have your correct contact details
The practice is looking at using email to contact patients. The practice would welcome you contacting the surgery with your email address. At this time we will check that we have your correct address, telephone numbers including home, work and mobile.
