Over the counter medication:

From 1 October your GP will no longer routinely prescribe medicines for minor health conditions. COVID 19 - RESEARCH HELP THE CAUSE:

Were delighted to say we’ve been accepted to recruit patients into the PRINCIPLE clinical research trial, which is designed to see whether an antimalarial medication is an effective treatment. If you’re >50 and eligible for the flu jab AND start with NEW coronavirus symptoms please contact Dr Francis at Stokesley Health Centre or go to https://sentry.phc.ox.ac.uk/prinscreen/STU . You’ll be directed to an online questionnaire to enter you into this trial and if suitable you will be offered testing for coronavirus and then randomised to medication or placebo. This will NOT affect you normal NHS care in any way.

As you know we sign up to the NHS statement that all patients should be offered the chance to partake in research for the sake of future generations. Please consider signing up for this if you are eligible.

Online Appointments

As well as offering GP and Clinical Practitioner and Physio appointments to book online we now offer Nurse appointments for the following :- Diabetic, CHD & Asthma Reviews, INR (Warfarin Monitoring ), Dressings, Smears.

Please make sure you book into the correct appointment clinic/slot.  If you book into the wrong appointment/clinic you may have to reappoint as we may not have the capacity to see you at that time.

We are continually looking at ways to improve the service we offer to our patients. It will come as no surprise to you that over the last few years the demand on General Practice has increased significantly. We strive to manage this demand daily. The team at the health centre has increased to now include not only GPs but also clinical practitioners, primary care nurses and pharmacists. There are also attached services including physiotherapy. Many of you will already have had contact with these members of the team and appreciate the skills they offer.

We are now adapting our appointment system to help patients navigate to the most appropriate person to assist with their problems. This process is called “CARE NAVIGATION”

The reception staff have all been trained in care navigation. This system will help patients access the most appropriate service for their needs. To enable the practice to develop these services we will be changing how the reception staff deal with appointment requests. The staff will ask you for a brief description of your problem to navigate you to the most appropriate appointment or service.

To enhance our practice we offer an “Ill On The Day” service to deal with those illnesses that require attention on that day. This service will be provided by a team of clinical staff including GPs, clinical practitioners, primary care nurses and pharmacists. This service will include both face to face consultations and telephone consultations if this is felt to be appropriate.
